Lots of info is found on several website’s like Twitter, Reddit and Facebook, however, I can never seem to find old stuff after a while. And all is decentralised.

I am posting it here categorized and for the world to see.

If I copied any of your info and you are not comfortable with it, let me know and I will remove it. Keep in mind, this website is for sharing info, basically, it will cost me money to run it. I try to post the source as much as posible, but some stuff i save some time ago and forgot where i got it.

For years, I have been wanting to design a simple control box that starts and stops fights in the Dutch Robot Games arena. The current system works, but it is far from great. The arena marshal has to interact with the competitors, manage audio controls, handle light controls, and keep an eye on the fight. Niels, the main arena marshal, has been doing a great job of this forever, but I wanted to make his life easier.

Some stuff I wished i knew when I started building robots.

In no specific order:

Shock-mounting electronics with foam or shock absorbers
Epoxy your magnets
Epoxy you windings
Wearing in motors and check the timing (brushed)
Tape or zip tie all your connectors
Lock bound all your screws and nuts if possible
Charge your Transmitter battery!
Be smart in placing your receiver and antennas (https://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-antenna.html)
Use a rx battery not a BEC
Be routinely about maintenance and repairs have checklists if possible
